Today the official Nintendo DS Web site carried news sure to please flamingo fanciers. Nintendo's latest portable is about to be pretty in pink.

After releasing the original Crystal White unit in Japan on March 2, Nintendo quickly followed with two new colors, Ice Blue and Enamel Navy, on March 11. Now the company will continue to brighten up the DS Lite line with a bubble-gum pink model, officially called "Noble Pink." The newest addition to the lineup is slated to go on sale July 20 for 16,800 yen (roughly US $144), the same price as its counterparts, and will include a matching pink stylus.

DS Lite

The Nintendo DS is a fantastic system with some amazing games, but the design was absoultely terrible. An arwing sort of shell, the hinge that connects the screens is just stupid, the screen's backlight was terrible, and the styulis was kind of hard to reach while playing a game. You were sort of trying reach around back there and after about 5 tries you get it.

Now, I have no idea where they got the great design of the DS Lite. The colors are fantastic, becasue of the excellent backlight, and the design is just, a beatiful piece of hardware. The power switch is moved to the side, instead of being where all the buttons were, because people were complaining about thinking it was the start button, and shutting off the game. The DS Lite also has some new button looks. I guess you can say the DS Lite's buttons are more squishy, then the DS's buttons, which we kind of clicky. I found it more comfortable, but it really was no big deal. 2 little downsides, but nothing big, were that the thumbpad isn't included, and the GBA games stick out by about 1 CM. Nothing huge, because it doesn't get in your way of playing.

Overall, the DS Lite is a fantastic system, and definately worth getting, it is only $130.

My review:

Nintendo DS- 8.2/10

Pros: Great Games, Great idea for the touch screen.
Cons: Terrible Design

Nintendo DS Lite: 10/10

Pros: Same as DS, incredible colors, great backlight.
Cons: GBA game sticks out, no thumbpad.

Wow, almost 6 months since last post.

Well, during those six months, amazing things have happened. I bought a 360, and enjoy it very much, and I have bought a number of games over the span of 6 months. The top gamesthat I enjoyed the most were:

-Mario Kart DS
-New Super Mario Bros.
-Kingdom Hearts II
-Call of Duty 2
-Ninja Gaiden Black (playing now)
and some more I can't remember now.

Sony, those idiots, annonced the ps3 $500 and $600, and don't be surprised if the games cost more than $60. More likely $80-$90. I know for sure I'm not getting one at launch, maybe never, but $600 is way too much for a console.

Microsoft, annonced some cool games. I think Gears of War was one of them, along with Too Human, and some others. It wasn't a big e3 for them, but it still grabbed my attention.

Now, Nintendo, was the clear winner of the 3. I'm not a "fanboy' of neither company's, but I thought Nintendo did a great job, and just focused on the fun. Games aren't all about graphics, but about the fun factor. Nintendo made me relize this, so I will be picking one of these up around launch.

Well, that's all for now.

Later,
